Why You Should Reward Your Employees!

As a business owner, you need your employees for the company to run on a daily basis! Without a team of dedicated and loyal employees behind you, you’d struggle to operate and keep the company moving forwards. As such, have you ever taken a moment to wonder what your employees think of you and how dedicated they actually are? Do you ever go out of your way to reward employees who do well and show potential? It’s well worth taking a moment to have a think about how you would view yourself as an employer and have a think on what you could do to improve that view!

One thing which almost any boss wants his or her employees to think is that they’re the greatest boss on the planet! That doesn’t mean letting them get away with doing no work or letting them come in as and when they please; but means ensuring your employees have respect for you.

One thing which works an absolute treat and can keep up morale in the office, as well as ensuring employees think the world of you, is by rewarding those who do well. That doesn’t have to mean commission levels for sales people or any set ‘targets’ but more so rewarding those who stand out to you. Has a particular employee put in a lot of extra overtime this month? Has someone stood up to challenges they’d never have previously been able to?

In terms of how you reward employees, well thats up to you! However, a couple of ideas which we’ve heard of employers using as rewards range from a session in a hot tub to a box of scented handmade candles and just about everything else in between! It doesn’t have to be anything too expensive but it all goes to show their hard work isn’t unnoticed! How about buying someone their teams latest football kit? Or a new pair of shoes?

The opportunities are endless but what matters is that you show that you respect and appreciate your staff…they’ll then think the same way to you and put in that extra effort at work! It’s all about rewarding positivity and creating a pleasant working environment.
